Tip – Mounting A Reproduction Galaga War Games Header

Looking for retro arcade game themed items to decorate your home gameroom? Last month Bill Johnston reproduced the Galaga War Games graphic, a unique piece of promotional arcade game artwork for the War Games movie. Bill had the Galaga headers digitally printed on vinyl and left the method of display up to the individual. There are plenty of choices for ways to mount the artwork, here is a tip on how to secure the header on top of your Galaga that will cost you less than a dollar and potentially take less than 20 minutes.

Klov vs. Ning Round 3 – Built in PMs and Email

Last week we looked at a couple of value added time saving aspects of why the Ning arcade game forums / social community is so much better than the klov forums. Today we’re going to look at a small feature of Ning that although it might be concentrating too much on the minutia, the built in communication systems in Ning will save you time and keep your communication consistent. Ms. Pac-man Copyright in Stencil File

I have had some questions about the copyright text in the Ms. Pac-man color separated stencil file. If you take a look really close, zoomed in to ant sized detail, the letters look like they were autotraced. and jagged. I don’t know how these were constructed, and not inferring anything at all with this information, just being informative.

Ms. Pac-man Copyright from Joymonkey File

(If you are one of the ill-informed individuals that wants to use an autotrace vector program of any sorts, this gives you a visual on the results no matter what you do.) So the question posed is, should I tape over the copyrights when I stencil and leave them out? Or leave the lettering in? Here is a photo comparison of what I got, you make your own decision. Prologue – Stencil a Ms. Pac-man Arcade Cabinet

You’ve got a Ms. Pac-man that has seen better days and you’re considering the long path of re-stenciling the artwork. You’re lucky, a year ago finding a way to have stencils made for your cabinet was a long tiresome path. But after Paul Murphy released his Ms. Pac-man stencils file every person now has more of an opportunity to restore their cabinet. Take the file to the printer, pay for a set of 9 Ms. Pac-man stencils and you’re one step closer.

However, what are the real cost? And by real I mean, what are the monetary costs, and what are the time costs? How much are you willing to sacrifice to bring that Ms. Pac-man back. Now that I am done with my Ms. Pac-man I thought I would list out the items you’ll need and what you should expect to pay. Results will vary 😉 (more…)

Troy Akey’s NIB Atari Football

It’s been just about a month since Troy Akey’s party in Chicago. Like everyone else, I was blown away by his collection of immaculate games. There was one game in particular that was most noteworthy to me, his NIB (New In Box) Atari Football. If you don’t already know, Troy got his Atari Football from that old abandoned Time Travel warehouse in Canada. (more…)

Ning vs. Klov Round 2 – RSS Feeds

In continuing to spotlight why the Ning Arcade Game Collecting Community is so much better than the Klov arcade game forums and why you should consider switching here is a major feature that can make your life easier – RSS feeds.

If you use RSS for reading information already, you already know the value you can get in savings loads of time, keeping up with all information, and aggregating multiple websites of information into one simple program. How much time? I would guess that if you spend 1-3 hours a day reading arcade game forums and Craigslist listings you could save up to half of that time! Here’s the comparison. (more…)
