Quantum CPO sells on eBay for $146.01

Law of supply and demand baby, and those laws supersede any type of market climate. Where many games have seen a dip as much as 25-30% of their value, parts and games that are highly sought after and that had limited initial production runs always sell for a ton of money.

Free Major Havoc level editor

Late last month, right around the time of the Owen Rubin live chat at Coinopspace I had written a post about Jess Askey announcing that he was going to make a free level editor for Atari’s Major Havoc that would allow the average user to drag and drop elements in a graphical interface to create their own stages that could then be taken and burned onto ROMs. In case you missed it, Jess quitely released his editor and one level has been made.

Photos of Arcade and Pinball Games at St. Louis Super Auctions April 2009

Last night Pat C. headed out with Kent M. to the Super Auctions preview. Just like the Indianapolis USAmusment auctions, you can take a gander at the games as they come in before the auction actually begins on Saturday morning. Pickings were pretty sparse, but there are a handful of classics which include a Missile Command and a couple of other games that aren’t too common.

Got an email from Dave Nutting a few days back

Back late last year I was really getting into tracking down old arcade game creators. It takes a good amount of time because, while there are many resources online, there is a ton of information to weed through to find the correct results. The goal was to find David Nutting, I did, had a short phone conversation with him and then I sent him a thank you letter in the mail. He eventually visited this website and dropped me a line via my form and this is what he had to say.

Finally got my ‘White’ Mr. Do!

In the midst of all of the craziness, a couple weeks ago one of those bootleg like white Mr. Do! machines came up for sale in the Chicago area! I have only heard or seen these Mr. Do! cabinets in New York, or in Massachusetts (and one in California that was hauled back many miles) so to see one come up on eBay for a relatively cheap price I knew it was now or never.

Short update on the Cheyenne artwork project

This has been going on for a long time, hasn’t it? Last time I posted back in Sept. 2008, way I had a Cheyenne artwork update that basically said – no new news. In order for Brian Jones to print a set of this artwork, set = both sides, he needs scans of the left piece of sideart. I am sure by now, it’s probably disheartening to him that no one has offered to scan their cabinet. But we’ve heard consistent rumblings from guys that want to see this project done and a couple new developments have happened this week.

Mad Planets underlay artwork progress

I’ve had little bits of time here and there, some in the hospital, where I was able to work on vectorizing the Mad Planets artwork that is under the control panel facing forward, which I’m referring to as the ‘Underlay’ to keep it simple. However, with my $50 Mad Planets Craigslist deal last week, it appears that I don’t ‘have’ to finish this artwork. But I like the game enough that I may….
