Mr. Do! Cocktail Conversion Artwork

Yesterday I was browsing for some Food Fight photos and came across this photo on another well known arcade collector’s website. Obviously a conversion as Mr. Do! did not come in a Midway style cabinet, this is probably the best looking Mr. Do! cocktail I have ever seen.

Pac-Mania in Brazil Indiana?

At first glance, I thought that there was an original Pac-Mania for sale on Craigslist really close to me here in Indianapolis. If I wanted, for just $200 and an hour drive to Brazil I could pick this game up. But the listing made me look twice and laugh a little at the sellers naivety. (more…)

Great Mr. Do! Cabinet Portland Craigslist

Wow, I totally missed a deal. A Mr. Do! on Craigslist in Portland on Sunday with an asking price of $50. It sold in 15 minutes (not surprisingly), but even that asking price seems really low especially for the condition the game appeared to be in from the photo.

Q*Bert Sideart Comparisons and History

Back in late May there was a couple page thread on Klov asking why Rich at This Old Game was remaking artwork for Gottlieb’s Q*Bert. Seeing as almost 7 years had passed since the first Q*Bert decals / artwork was reproduced there are a lot of people who vaguely knew there were different versions, but didn’t know who was selling the most accurate reproduction.

We put that thread to rest, but in case you are still curious here is an expounded history and a visual comparison of the Q*bert sideart that has been reproduced. (more…)

Newly Stenciled Burgertime Cabinet

Got a note from Rich Lint today that he had finished stenciling his Burgertime cabinet and he sent me some photos. For those collectors that have seen a freshly painted arcade cabinet you all know how gorgeous they look. But it’s always worthwhile to see another. (more…)

Cinematronics Ripoff Sideart by Archer

Soon after the eBay auctions for the NOS arcade artwork from the PA warehouse ended there was a Klov thread asking which of the NOS arcade artwork pieces collectors would like to see reproduced. At least 6 said that they would be interested in buying a set of reproduction Ripoff sideart. This is interesting because back in 2002 Archer Maclean made inkjet reproductions of the Ripoff sideart, probably 20-30 pieces, and you would think that would have sucked up all demand. but it sounds like only a handful, some of which may have been used on his own machine and another set which may be in the hands of another collector, 2-3 sets and that is it.

However, the most interesting part of this is that when you do a general Google search you can’t find any mention of Archer’s Ripoff artwork. That got me investigating the ‘why not’, the science of indexing pdf’s / Ionpool’s website and I was left asking, why would Tom McClintock want to make it more difficult for a new collector to find the great resources at his website?
