Back in the first week of May, pinball and arcade enthusiasts alike spent over an hour and a half chatting live with John Carpenter at Coinopspace.com. John used to work at Data East and helped develop a whole slew of well known pinball machines. A number of interesting items came out, like where most of the Michael Jordan pinballs machines landed and a rare variant of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Williams Parts Folder Cover

I had referenced this item as one of many in an old operator’s box of paper, but I wanted to show it off because I thought it was a particularly nice design. The operator used the folder to store mostly flyers and some interesting notes about sales forecasting and probabilities of profits on certain machines. (more…)


“Arcade away from home” Part 5 – Heading Home

The hope was that the worst days of my Chicago trip were behind us. Yesterday the truck had broken down with the games in the back, in the rain. We got it towed, but the dealership closed before we could get some answers and for all we knew, we might be in South Bend until Wednesday. Fortunately, that didn’t materialize. (more…)
