What’s it worth? Nintendo Popeye – Key West, Florida

In today’s edition of ‘What’s it worth?’, here is a recently ended auction for a working Popeye from eBay.

Nintendo Popeye – Value

Everyone is experiencing the throes of the Coronavirus – but those future readers, this auction closed in April 2020 well into the shut down nationwide.

This particular Popeye ended up selling for $725.

A couple of notes on condition that can be seen from the photos, and are noted in the description – this game is missing sideart on at least one side, assumed both sides. Other than that, this is a nice looking machine. The control panel overlay appears to be in good shape, I can’t see whether are cigarette burns or not. It looks like the tmolding has been replaced on the sides, but for some reason not under the control panel. Hopefully this was replaced with ‘True Flat’ tmolding (available at Chomping Quarters.com), this is the most accurate tmolding available on the market for Nintendo cabinets. Every other tmolding is convex, which isn’t true to the original molding.

Decent final bid price for this game. Like everything else, game prices have taken a hit with Covid-19 – this final hammer price is still pretty good all things considered.
