What’s it worth? Smash TV Boards
In this edition of valuing your arcade games & parts, its several recent eBay auctions for Williams Smash T.V. PCBs and the final sales prices.
Williams Smash T.V. – Auction Data
Over the last several years the interest in Williams Smash T.V. has increased, but I have noticed that over the last 2-3 years the values of the boards for this game have been relatively consistent. Smash T.V. boards are relatively common and come up for sale a couple of times each year, a simple alert on eBay will uncover one in relatively short order.
The following are results from four eBay auctions over the past ~15 months where the final sale price ranges from $160-$225. If you search eBay now and look at recently closed auctions for Smash T.V. boardsets you will probably see similar final sales prices. The variances in the final sales price for these four auctions will be due to whether the main PCB is also being sold with the soundboard.
For those that will at least attempt basic steps to do some repairs it is possible that you could find a deal on the lower end or below that price range. This boardset does seem to have issues with a particular chip (u99) that sometimes can be fixed simply by reseating or lightly sanding down the legs on the chip to remove corrosion that has built up over time.
Ok, let’s get to the 4 sample auctions and their results – shown in descending order by date. If after reviewing the final sales prices you are unsure if you can command more for your boardset, please contact me for an up to date valuation.
